Title: Decrease CO for MOT?
Post by: mushtafa on March 17, 2015, 12:54:07 PM
Not sure if this needs moving to the noob area or not?

Anyway, 1.8t, AUQ, few mods, good MAP.

CAT has been removed, so CO is too high to pass MOT emission test.

What can I change to lower it? The engine only needs to rev up to 3K with no load. (Only need to flash, emission test, flash back again).

Thinking out load now; Would decreasing the load request help? I'm not sure it will?

Cheers

The only way is to run it on E85 temporarily or some other exotic fuel.

Nothing you do with your tuning is going to let you pass MOT without a cat.

E85 should work though.

You could put water into your exhaust, but then, lambda will be too hight  ;D

Find a sympathetic tester or fit a cat.

If you're anywhere near Cardiff, pro-speed exhausts will fit flanges and build you a swappable cat/decat fairly cheaply.

I'm an MOT tester, I'm sure I can come up with something! Just nice to do it all by the books  ;D
