Title: Newb here .-. Post by: FishLovesLoud on March 20, 2015, 06:46:22 PM I've never posted on this forum but have looked around a bit. I'm interested in learning how to make my own tunes(fuel maps as well) I have a mk4 jetta 2slo. From the research that I have done so far I've found out that its a rather hard thing to jump right into. But cars are life for me so I'd like to know every aspect of them. Anybody that sees this and has helpful info or a push in the right direction please post it. I would love some help here guys and gals. Also I'm not too familiar with abbreviated terms either so please, newb with me here. Thanks all and enjoy your day.

Title: Re: Post by: FishLovesLoud on March 22, 2015, 12:32:21 PM Thanks dozer. Will that work on my mk4? Better than buying the vag com software (which I was saving some money out of my checks for) lol

Better than buying the vag com software (which I was saving some money out of my checks for) lol Vcds and nef do very different jobs. Vcds does diagnostics and module coding, nef allows you to read/write the flash in some ecus. Ideally, you want both ('will Vcds talk to it?' is a standard test when an ecu is bricked) Title: Re: Post by: dozer103 on March 23, 2015, 03:12:08 AM Thanks dozer. Will that work on my mk4? Better than buying the vag com software (which I was saving some money out of my checks for) lol Nef is the tuning stuff, if you plan on maintaining the car yourself and don't have access to vag com you should still save up and get it. Pay a shop to pull codes for you twice and you've spent the same money! |
