Title: can't code ecu Post by: seany260 on March 22, 2015, 09:13:42 PM today I finally got my 518ak v3 file and eeprom into the ecu but it will not accept my originally stored coding values. just to note im coming from the 518al v3 uk file that i was running, maybe that has something to do with it? this is the error i get in VCDS,
error 31 request out of range coding rejected. car starts and runs ok... Title: Re: can't code ecu Post by: ddillenger on March 22, 2015, 09:30:43 PM 518AK has to be coded with US coding man.
Title: Re: can't code ecu Post by: seany260 on March 22, 2015, 11:12:06 PM thought it might have been that, my orignal coding is '0011701' you wouldn't happen to know what I need to change it to for USA. I have looked through label files in vcds for the '8E' but nothing for coding engines there. thanks

Title: Re: can't code ecu Post by: ddillenger on March 22, 2015, 11:51:58 PM All that matters are the second to last digits. Make sure those match what's on your CAN-bus, and that's all that matters.

Title: Re: can't code ecu Post by: seany260 on March 23, 2015, 08:16:36 PM 16701 works just fine, thanks again.
had the evap p1473 code but have the dtc deleted now thanks to a recent post on the forum for the ak file. on with the p0420 code now, rear o2 needs deleted now i think. Title: Re: can't code ecu Post by: ddillenger on March 23, 2015, 08:20:32 PM 11 is the only part of his not valid for us though. 701 is valid coding. I know, I was just saying, the market is irrelevant in this case. xx70x are all that matter in this instance. |
