Title: what else do i need to clone this ECU? Post by: fhyeo77 on July 21, 2011, 03:11:57 PM I have this ecu: 06A906033D simos 3.3 year 2000 New Beetle and I want to clone it with a difernt one: 06906033A simos 3.3 same year. Since both of them are simos 3.3, are they gonna be HW identic?is it enough only reading flash and eprom (With Galep5) and re-writing in "to-be-clone ECU"? or do I have to do something else?Thanks to all! Post by: kls on July 21, 2011, 03:40:46 PM If you open both up you should be able to find a hardware rev on the PC board. You can see if they are the same, even they aren't it should work just fine to clone both the flash and eeprom.

In other words what tells us the one that's circled is the 95040? Research, or is there another way to tell without reading it? Just curious.
