Title: 1.8T ME7.5.1 maps to tune for big turbo & injectors Post by: Ionut on April 08, 2015, 02:30:50 PM Hello.
Last year i had an accident with my A3 that was total damage. Now, i`m more ready than ever to rebuild, but will not be a street car anymore (i have 3 other cars for street). My goal: ~500 bhp on 98 gasoline or E85. Part list: * BOSCH EV14 1000cc injectors * Walbro 255lph fuel pump * FMIC * Hybrid Turbo T04E (any other suggestions for cheap turbo will be welcome) * Exhaust mainfold with T3 flange * JE pistons * H-Beam connection rods * S3 or bigger brakes * Brand new haldex clutch * Ceramic SMF clutch * EGT sensors on each cylinder My engine code is AJQ (small port) should i search for a big port head or is fine the small one too for <500 bhp? My real question is for software. i have a ME7.5.1 ecu (032AF), with 512K of flash. Are there maps enough for right tune? * KFKHFM * KFZWOP/KFZWOP2 * KFZW/KFZW2 * MLHFM (probably will need bigger MAF) * KFMIRL * KFMIOP * KFPED * KFPEDR * KFLBTS * FKKVS * LAMFA * KFLDIMX * KFLDRL * KFTARX * LDRXN/LDRXNZK * KRKTE * KVB * NMAX/NMAXDZ/NMAXNL/NMAXOG * CDKAT * TABGBTS (can`t find this, but i have time while building mechanical part) Also, what type of MAP sensor can be fitted to read extra pressure? Thank you in advance. Title: Re: 1.8T ME7.5.1 maps to tune for big turbo & injectors Post by: prj on April 08, 2015, 02:55:33 PM Those maps are not nearly enough.
Big port head is much better. You will be able to run lots more timing on it too. Turbo you can go for HX35 Super. 750-800 EUR for brand new one. On E85 I have made 570hp from it on 2.2T engine. Can you please name those maps that i need, to search info and study what they do? Thank you. You will be able to run lots more timing on it too. I was under the impression the smaller port did better tq-wise off boost. Can you elaborate why the big port allows for more timing? Also, over the whole rev-range, or only up top? Title: Re: 1.8T ME7.5.1 maps to tune for big turbo & injectors Post by: b4A4nowA6 on April 08, 2015, 10:19:14 PM Hello. Great question, I was just asking the same thing for my build.Last year i had an accident with my A3 that was total damage. Can't be done w/o the 5120 hack Title: Re: 1.8T ME7.5.1 maps to tune for big turbo & injectors Post by: ddillenger on April 08, 2015, 10:56:02 PM Can't be done w/o the 5120 hack Not entirely true. You can log voltage and convert it by hand to get boost over the ecu limitation for logging. Title: Re: 1.8T ME7.5.1 maps to tune for big turbo & injectors Post by: Ionut on April 08, 2015, 10:57:49 PM Yes, i`m aware of that... i`ve read almost all pages here about 1.8T tuning from 2013 until today and S4Wiki. Project will start most probably on july or august, so i have enough time for sw research.
@ddillenger, can you explain a little bit more what you just said? :D Title: Re: 1.8T ME7.5.1 maps to tune for big turbo & injectors Post by: nyet on April 08, 2015, 11:02:02 PM @ddillenger, can you explain a little bit more what you just said? :D You can log higher boost, but the ECU won't know what to do with it. Title: Re: 1.8T ME7.5.1 maps to tune for big turbo & injectors Post by: ddillenger on April 08, 2015, 11:16:14 PM You can log higher boost, but the ECU won't know what to do with it. In all fairness he asked about READING higher pressure. I was just splitting hairs :P Title: Re: 1.8T ME7.5.1 maps to tune for big turbo & injectors Post by: Ionut on April 09, 2015, 01:22:55 AM I don`t care if i can read 300 psi if I can`t do any calculation in ecu with that value :)

I think getting a rough list of what maps should be needed for common bt setups would be great. I've had a chance to compare a few of the big names and there are definitely some similarities, and some of the maps just look like they were changed just for the sake of changing them, but I am no expert. You can also see what certain tuners knew (or didn't know) back when they originally made the files when ME7 was new-ish. That I find interesting for sure. There are definitely more than a few ways to skin that cat. Unfortunately I think the guys that really know what's up probably won't be too keen on listing what maps get changed. :( Title: Re: 1.8T ME7.5.1 maps to tune for big turbo & injectors Post by: _nameless on April 12, 2015, 06:53:50 AM Thanks, prj. Title: Re: 1.8T ME7.5.1 maps to tune for big turbo & injectors Post by: Ionut on October 07, 2015, 03:04:44 PM Final part list is as follows:
* EV1 1000cc injectors * Bosch 044 fuel pump * FMIC (21 Litres 76mm piping) * Hybrid Turbo HX32 with Billet HX35S 7 blade compressor and small turbine housing * Stainless steel exhaust mainfold with T3 flange * Audi S2 wastegate * TIAL Bov * JE pistons * Goeze piston rings * ACL race big end bearings * H-Beam FCP Engeneering connecting rods * Brand new haldex clutch * SPEC Stage 5 SMF clutch * EGT sensors on each cylinder (just one gauge, monitored cylinder can be set with a push button) * 4 bar MAP sensor * Bosch Wideband lambda sensor * Wideband ECU * Nuke performance aluminium fuel rail * Nuke performance vacuum station with quick connection plugs * ARP head, big end bearing and main bearings If power is not the one expected (~500 bhp) will spend ~$1300 more on +1mm valves, valves spring and stronger retainers. Started working on chasis structure / paint. In 2-3 weeks chasis will be ready to start mounting parts on it, then will follow front and rear axle, haldex, gearbox revision and at the end, the engine. With some suck will fire up the beast before new year. What is the load limit for ME7.5? With 5 bar hack the load will be half, so the old formula of pressure ( ~ load * 10 + 300) will be load * 20 + 300, so 254 * 20 + 300 = 5380 mbar. My goal is to do calibrations with 2500 mbar absolute pressure (enough safe i think) and then on final configuration run at 3400 mbar absolute pressure. Title: Re: 1.8T ME7.5.1 maps to tune for big turbo & injectors Post by: nyet on October 07, 2015, 03:46:16 PM Load will not be half.
Title: Re: 1.8T ME7.5.1 maps to tune for big turbo & injectors Post by: carsey on October 07, 2015, 06:38:51 PM Run it in open loop control.
Title: Re: 1.8T ME7.5.1 maps to tune for big turbo & injectors Post by: adam- on October 07, 2015, 11:43:01 PM Open loop isn't "control", though. That, and if he's capable of creating a hacked file, there's no need to go open loop: it's daft. I'm going to move to a hacked file when I get a chance to sit down and go through my file.
Title: Re: 1.8T ME7.5.1 maps to tune for big turbo & injectors Post by: Jim_Coupe on October 08, 2015, 12:01:40 AM It´s more expensive.. But I would go for a GTX3071r if running 1.8L
Title: Re: 1.8T ME7.5.1 maps to tune for big turbo & injectors Post by: Ionut on December 07, 2015, 04:53:24 PM All parts from upper list are already buyed, so other turbo now is not the solution.
I have trouble in getting PLSOL_W and other variables for logging my ecu (06A906032AF) and i`ve lost my other ecu (4B0906018CH) somewhere in garage. If someone has a full damos for this software version (06A906032AF) that contains all maps for 5120 hack and maps for right tune a 500+ bhp setup i`m glad to pay for it. |
