Can someone explain how this relates to a tiptronic S4 and why ? What does it do exactly ?
I have it open in tunerpro and I see 8 fields one with some set RPM point:
01      02        03        04        05        06         07        08
6800  6800    6800     6800     5600     4150     4150     4150

hmmm....gear limits?  park neutral reverse drive, tip.  follow me?  check what your car does if in neutral and rev it, park, rev it, reverse.  just a thought.

I haven't used that map myself.

They are per gear RPM limits.

I believe it is for when there is a speed signal fault code or something.

They set the RPM at which the error signal is registered if the TCU rpm limiter is over run. They don't really control any rpm limits, but they control at what speed the error is adressed. They won't raise the rpm limit in the TCU, but they can prevent TCU limp due to the rpm limit being exceeded. Am I making sense? If the TCU rpm limit is exceeded these are the maximum values the engine can rev to before the error is addressed. I have experimented with these values for about 18 months, they don't seem to change the fact that the TCU rev limiter is exceed, hence shifting can become odd, but they do prevent the TCU from going into limp if raised above the ECU RPM limit. This map only applies to the tip transmission.
