Title: winols, damos, mappack.. totally noob in tuning Post by: cascam330 on April 10, 2015, 10:17:11 AM what are winols, damos and mappack exactly?
what is internal and external flashing? what is boot mode, flasher mode and boot tricore mode?? Title: Re: winols, damos, mappack.. totally noob in tuning Post by: vwaudiguy on April 10, 2015, 01:05:13 PM Winols is software used for analyzing/modifying files.
Damos is a type of file used with winols to define said files Mappack is a group of maps used to define a file. Internal flashing could be bdm which is reading directly off the circuit board Boot mode is reading/writing a file to/from an ecu by putting the flash chip in boot mode to bypass the protocols used to flash/read over the OBD port. Boot tricore I believe refers to the tricore processor used in the most recent types of ecu's. Hope this helps! checksums are encryptions that protect ecu? how do they bypass it easily, even for the latest ecu's? is there a software to calculate those checksums? Title: Re: winols, damos, mappack.. totally noob in tuning Post by: nyet on April 10, 2015, 08:14:21 PM thanks. They are there to detect corruption or errorschecksums are encryptions that protect ecu? Quote how do they bypass it easily, even for the latest ecu's? Bypassing is a bad idea, they are there for good reason.Quote is there a software to calculate those checksums? built into winols, see my sig for free software for ME7.x Title: Re: winols, damos, mappack.. totally noob in tuning Post by: cascam330 on April 12, 2015, 05:16:20 AM 8) its impossible to calculate checksum manually??
Title: Re: winols, damos, mappack.. totally noob in tuning Post by: nyet on April 12, 2015, 10:52:28 AM 8) its impossible to calculate checksum manually?? You can calculate digits of pi manually too. Title: Re: winols, damos, mappack.. totally noob in tuning Post by: ddillenger on April 12, 2015, 11:07:18 AM You can calculate digits of pi manually too. This was the answer I was looking for.
