Title: Strange VAG number of the engine ECU Post by: Neno-ri on April 25, 2015, 02:15:11 PM Hi.
I went do diagnose one golf4 tdi and while connecting I've got a strange VAG number of the controller. Here is a snapshot. Anyone has any idea? Tnx! Title: Re: Strange VAG number of the engine ECU Post by: cerips on April 25, 2015, 03:33:56 PM Chipped by http://www.biltuning.no ?

Title: Re: Strange VAG number of the engine ECU Post by: Neno-ri on April 26, 2015, 02:24:33 AM Could be. I found out that this was taken from golf mk3 which was developed by vw motorsports for racing purpose. this engine is suppose to have 250 bhp.
The ECU looks like a standard EDC15 from the outside. Title: Re: Strange VAG number of the engine ECU Post by: prj on April 26, 2015, 10:21:05 AM Could you read the file please and post it?
I am curious about the checksum bypass on EC15. Title: Re: Strange VAG number of the engine ECU Post by: Neno-ri on April 26, 2015, 10:27:20 AM I've tried to read it with galletto v54 over k-line but it stops after 28%. I guess it is protected. Any ideas on how I might read it?

Title: Re: Strange VAG number of the engine ECU Post by: Neno-ri on April 26, 2015, 01:27:58 PM Bootmode means I have to open the ecu and the owner is a bit concerned that something might go wrong. So unfortunately this is not the option.

So unfortunately this is not the option. I doubt it's protected, probably you have crappy galletto 2 clone with bad K-line drivers and resistors. Bosch EDC15V-5.36 0 281 001 733 I've opened the ecu and found out two B58399 eprom chips. (equivalent 29f010). Probably hi/lo configuration. This is why I've had no success with galletto. I ordered an eprom programmer so as soon as I get it I'll read the chips. Here are some photos of the ecu: Title: Re: Strange VAG number of the engine ECU Post by: Neno-ri on April 27, 2015, 03:03:04 PM I doubt it's protected, probably you have crappy galletto 2 clone with bad K-line drivers and resistors. Galletto is a decent clone. I've tried k-line on me7.3.1 and it works good. Tested with multiple reads/writes and no problem.
