Title: MED9.1 Immo problems
Post by: gman86 on May 09, 2015, 10:33:39 AM
Hi all,

I've transplanted a BHZ S3 engine into an A3 TFSI (AXX) and wanted to use the ECU. I had the E2P chip 95160 file swapped over from the old AXX ECU to the S3 one but the car wouldnt start. It gave me SAFE on the dash and P160A Internal Control Module Memory fault.

I then had the 95160 swapped back to my AXX ECU and I'm still having the same problem. The key is correct and the car used to start and run (rough) on the AXX ECU. The P160A code persists.

Unfortunately the S3 ECU has since been physically damaged so can't be used.

I had the E2P read and IMMO OFF applied and rewritten and it still has the code set. The security access code extracted from the E2P wont allow login access to either Immobilizer or Engine modules via VCDS.

Does anyone have any ideas how to cure without another ECU?

IMHO something went wrong when reading the dump. Perhaps a known good dump from another ECU will let you get it running.
