Title: 95040 clock speed? Post by: vwaudiguy on July 28, 2011, 09:46:48 PM I need to purchase some 95040's..I looked them up online, and it seems they are offered in two diff clock speeds (5mhz and 10mhz). Can I use either? Here is a link to what I believe are the correct eeproms.
http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?vendor=0&keywords=m95040 I kinda need a few in a hurry as my car is down, and I loaned my original ecu to a friend who needed it worse than I do. I have a few extra ecu's without eeproms, and I'm hoping to cobble one together ;D. Title: Re: 95040 clock speed? Post by: setzi62 on July 29, 2011, 01:43:53 AM I did not look at the parts description, but I know that the ME7
uses a clock frequency of 1Mbps on the synchronous serial interface to read/write the EEPROM. So the 5MHz variant should be sufficient, if this is the supported clock frequency. but for this small memory it will not be a big gain. Can't say 10MHz would have any advantage over the 5MHz version, both should work same. |
