Title: does a Maserati ME7 ECU share definitions with any audi ME7 ECU? Post by: mister t on May 20, 2015, 03:40:00 PM So I was looking for ME7 learning materials and happened upon the factory training manuals for the 4200 series Maseratis. In it, I found that they share an incredible amount of hardware and similarities to the Audi ME7 ECU's and hardware (as in, virtually identical).
As my folks have a 2008 Maserati Gransport, I was thinking I might try and hook up ME7 logger and see if it would give me any readings. Although it's a long shot I'm sure, I was thinking that a definition file from an Audi V8 like those in an S4 might share the same addresses as those used in the Maserati. I'm not looking to actually alter any of the maps, just to be able to get readings off the engine in case of any maintenance issues. (I'm it's de facto mechanic lol). Anyone have any idea as to whether or not there's a chance that it could work? I should also advise that unlike the Audis, the Maseratis use dual ECU's, however, one is slaved to the other, so I'll assume that the readings from the master ECU would be all you need. PS: I'm also happy to share the Maserati manual that I found. It has some really good info/illustrations in it about ME7 fundamentals which isn't just a rehash of the same Audi/VW materials. Does the manual mention anything about the flag service? |
