Title: ESKONF Twice?
Post by: Jerry Tunin on June 03, 2015, 10:08:14 PM
I was looking through the following bin of mine at ESKONF and noticed it's in there twice...  Which would I use?

0x10D34 -> 0x10D3A
&
0x10D3B -> 0x10D41

The first one is for the default coding. Check VARDEF to confirm. When in doubt, change them both.

I have same question,why two ESKONF
They same except 4. byte is different

If I want to do some modifications should I change only ESKONF?

the answer is in post nr2 and you can check and try to understand the difference in byte 4.
read about eskonf here https://s4wiki.com/wiki/Tuning#ESKONF

I read that few times but still i cant figure out why two ESKONF.
Maybe is problem with my english, but I have no clue what ddillenger mean it in nr2 post in this tread.  :-\
I change both ESKONF and upload the flash, everything is working fine,but I don't like to do something that i don't understand. So I kindly ask you can you try to explain me little more better. Thank you in advance

Edit:
Hmm if I get it, first is for something like default settings of ECU. (Like the setting in mobile phone when we do hard reset)
A second one is USER settings, soft coding,adaption etc.
So changing both will be good decision  :D

Depending on ECU coding it might use different ESCONFS

ECU coding is stored in EEPROM (e.g. automatic vs manual)

I get it, thank you very much. Definitely best forum ever ;)
