Title: P0606 and P1603..... Post by: golfputtputt on June 17, 2015, 03:51:22 PM So, I recently flashed my car using the Nefmoto flasher and a genuine Rosstech cable after removing my cat and rear O2.
Attached is the Bin and Xdf I used. These are the variables I changed: CLALSH CLAHSHE CLAHSH CDHSH CDHSHE CDLASH CDLSH CWDLSAHK SRYLS CDKAT MSLUB I used me7check and sum on the file twice just to be sure. I flashed the file twice just to be sure also. The Mslub is zeroed because I removed my SAI earlier on. Now I am getting a P0606 code when I check DTC's with Nefmoto and a P1603 intermittent code when I check DTC's with VCDS. If I clear them, they just come back after a bit of driving. VCDS: 18011 - Internal Control Module P1603 - 35-10 - Failed Self-Test - Intermittent Nefmoto: P0606 decoding not licensed status 0x28 Car does pass readiness so It seemed like the changes did what I wanted them to do ultimately. Car still starts. Here is the readout from nefmoto flasher: 0x92, System Supplier ECU Hardware Number: 0261207446 0x94, System Supplier ECU Software Number: 1037363354 0x91, Vehicle Manufacturer ECU Hardware Number: 0x0D, 0x9B, Calibration Date: 06A906032HS , 0008, 0x00001D4C, 0x00000000, 0x0000, 1.8L R4/5VT , G 0x9C, Calibration Equiment Software Number: 0x80110100 I did read somewhere here that the 8 in the first number of the calibration equipment software number means the ECU is unhappy. What can/should I do about this? Title: Re: P0606 and P1603..... Post by: nyet on June 17, 2015, 09:50:01 PM Find a spare ECU

Hey, I know, this post is very old. Can anybody confirm that an 8 is a bad sign? I am also having an 8 there after reading my flash with nefmoto on the bench (before that I did Immo-off and after reading I did Immo-on by writing the original 95040-file to the EEPROM). I did not change the flash. I just read it. The car starts, but has a really bad idle now. The engine sounds like broken. With my spare ECU (Immo OFF on the spare ECU) everything is fine. Does this make sense to anyone? Here is what Nefmoto reads out after the things I did mentioned above: Read 5 ECU info entries: 0x92, System Supplier ECU Hardware Number: 0261207928 0x94, System Supplier ECU Software Number: 1037363930 0x91, Vehicle Manufacturer ECU Hardware Number: 0x0D, 8E0909018A , 0xFF 0x9B, Calibration Date: 4B0906018DH , 0002, 0x00002CED, 0x00000000, 0x001C, 1.8L R4/5VT , G 0x9C, Calibration Equiment Software Number: 0x80010002 Before that there was only one line different: 0x9C, Calibration Equiment Software Number: 0x00000002 Thanks in advance Chris |
