Title: KFZW values, somehow clarify for me
Post by: Divune on July 22, 2015, 12:16:36 PM
hey all. Hopefully i can get some clarification on the timing values in KFZW. I have a e85 k04 car. I currently am able to get a max timing of around 19degrees around 5k, then it always falls off below 10. There is no timing retard, the requested just goes low. It was explained briefly to me that the higher rpm/load values in KFZW need to be scaled up to keep requested timing where it should be. Currently i have an input of 33 at the highest load/rpm, yet at that point my car is already dropping timing back. At 5k i use a value of 21 and that gets me right around that. Is it proper to increase KFZW to put requested in the right spot, inputting anything over 30 ( although I know it isn't directly reflecting degrees) makes me uneasy. I have searched for months on this and havent gotten a clear answer, thanks for any input .

torque intervention?

e85 and stock KFZWOP don't mix

reading what the wiki says, "If there is torque intervention, you will see mizsolv (specified torque) drop from following mibas (actual torque) to following misolv (requested torque)."
I'm not seeing any drop in requested in my logs. If anyone wants to look here is a log from today, although it was in 4th.

I don't see mizsolv, misolv, or mibas in your log

These arent the same values? I looked in me7logger and could not find mizsolv, misolv,or mibas.

Unfortunately you have to add them by hand

Sounds like intervention and incorrect kfzwop/2.

should kfzwop be raised when running e85? i assume so.

curious on this as well.

I added the variables correctly i think, although couldn't find mibas.

Code:
mibas_w                  , {}                                , 0x382968,  2,  0x0000, { }       , 0, 0,   0.00152588,      0, {indicated basic torque}

Perfect, i think i got it now.

yea. but now you are missing mizsolv and misolv.. :(

Anyway, some mild torque intervention here

Odd, i have them checked in me7 , and i can see the data in the text file.

Oops. my mistake.

Thanks for that, makes it clear it is torque intervention. From my current knowledge it would seem kfzwop is the issue being on e85, but Ill do some more reading as I see other variables can cause this . Thanks a lot for all of your input guys, its appreciated. !

You dont need to tune KFZWOP

The only way to transfer the torque variables to another file/ecu is to use ida, right?

Unfortunately, yes :(

You dont need to tune KFZWOP

I agree, there is something else going on.

you dont need to tune kfzwop but you can. with e85 a really simple way to make your timing maps is to basically drop the optimal maps into the kfzw/2. increasing kfzwop has advantages. however, as I said before, seems like he has interventions.

Yep, one thing at a time.

1) get a normal tune running w/o interventions with a normal KFMIOP/2 and a conservative KFZW/2

2) slowly bring KFZW/2 up to IOP/2 until you see knock (if any). If you see knock, you're done. NEVER exceed IOP/2 in KFZW/2

3) slowly bring up IOP/2 and KFZW/2 in tandem until you lose power (assuming NO knock) on a dyno.

If you don't have a dyno, don't fuck with IOP/2, imo

I have not seen your file but according to your logs here i belive you are having some strange kfzw requests.
Your timing curve is just not OK. Having 4.5 deg at 3750 rpm and ramping it up too 19 deg by 5200rpm. God knows what you are requesting at Redline??? That will just not happen.
Leave as other suggested KFZWOP/2 stock and bring down your  KFZW/2 after 3500rpm. Dont rump it that quickly with rpms.
