Title: ME7.8: MPPS only reads one 64k block of 29F800BB flash chip
Post by: walt on August 11, 2015, 06:15:43 AM
Hello, would anyone know if, on ME7.8, it's normal for MPPS to only read one 64k block
of the 29F800BB chip? Specifically it's the first 64k block, sector 04 of the chip.

I was hop0ing to read the whole chip. I don't have the MPPS version number at the
moment, but it was just purchased a few days ago.

  Thanks!

yes thats normal. You wont be able to get it done via OBD with MPPS

Many thanks.

PS Just figured out how to add karma. My eyesight is not 100% and I was
reading the two feedback options as [applaud] [smile]. This was confusing,
and was not sure which to click. Finally read it correctly just now.

Thanks!

1: remove ECU
2: open ECU
3: put ECU in boot mode
4: read ECU in boot mode
5: close ECU
6: reinstall ECU in the car

Sounds hard? In that case I'd recommend a different hobby.

It´s not so hard but inconvenient  :-\

So better use kess v2 to read via obd?
