Title: disabled LTFTS?
Post by: Snow Trooper on August 09, 2011, 09:07:47 AM
I have come across a number of files that simply do not adapt LTFTs, what variable controls this?  Or rather is it possible that as I have tested them out something specific is interacting with my car and its simulated o2s?

Or maybe related to the various "rear O2" delete modifications?

I have just started tuning my car with all the various suggested O2 delete mods. If it doesn't trim (or does) i'll post here with results.

My observation on this is that it actually does adapt LTFTs but only for current ECU "session"  so you can see them changing when car is running but as soon as you shut down the car and restart, they're gone.

I don't have my stuff with me right now to check (on a ship), but I seem to recall that if LAMFA is any thing other than all ones, this behavior occurs. I seem to remember discussing this with PSmalls, but I might be wrong because I was severely medicated at the time.

Mine just always say 0.00% on some files but not others.  Even if fueling is intentionally off.

The only times I can recall seeing this is with LAMFA set to other than 1 or with TABGBTS set artificially low.

Or maybe related to the various "rear O2" delete modifications?

I took an M-box file, did the rear O2-delete thing (changed various parameters - list of paramters in another post on this forum) flashed it and found that the car was very rich at idle. Can't remember the % but the voltage stayed at roughly 0.1V or thereabouts. When I flashed the same M-Box file but without the rear O2-deleted, everything seemed to be fine... ???

Like I said, the list of parameters in another post on this forum ;)
Will see if I can locate it again...

I'm asking because there are multiple ways to do this-to only eliminate the DTC only 2 bits need to be changed. To disable cat checking and probe aging, there are more. You're having issues, without knowing exactly what you changed there's no way to tell if the process you used was correct. It would also be useful to post the original and modified bin.

I think the preferred way to tune out Rear O2's now is via the ESKONF bit.

I was wondering about that-does it completely disable the rear 02's/catalyst checking? What's readiness say?

This might be a red herring here, but there is also the question of the EGT model depending on rear O2 signals... masterj has a huge writeup about fixing the EGT model that I have been meaning to integrate into the s4wiki but haven't had time

I'd be curious to read that, when it get's up.  Has he already posted it in the forum?
