Yes.

7 Checksum errors, fueling isn't changed, barely requesting any load.

Not even a stage 0.1.

I haven't looked at the checksums yet im hoping me7sum will help out when its time to correct them. Could anyone tell me what maps are for the fueling + requested load? Thank you.

Have you checked out the Wiki?

I really think members shouldn't be able to join until they've ticked off that they've read through the Wiki.  It just clutters the forum with stuff like this.

I have read through the wiki however I was also hoping for a little guidance from some of the pros on here aswell.

What guidance do you need?  What hardware do you have, what changes do you want to make?  What do you see yourself being capable of?

Not even that, your question "what maps are for the fuelling and requested load" are so fundamental they shouldn't need answering if you've read the Wiki..

Thanks for your reply I am very grateful. Perhaps I worded that wrong Im hoping to make a simple stage 1 tune on a stock aum golf I have a spare ecu a dumb vag kkl cable + bench equipment I also have a willem programmer and a lot of time to learn. I think I am capable of doing a remap as I work on embedded systems so communicating with the ecu is not a problem for me. I guess im getting a little confused with the firmware i.e. some maps being inverse of each other and what actually should be tweaked and what shouldn't be for stage 1. Thanks again Martin.

Just get stuck in and read as much as you can.  If you've worked on embedded systems you should have a fair understanding of the underlying methods.

There's two unbelievably well-documented Stage 1 threads, as well as 2 well-documented Stage 2 threads that go through each change individually.

Read the Wiki, make notes on paper, write it down and read it back.  Have you got a definition file that matches your file yet? What software are you using - TunerPro or WinOLS?

Cheers for the good advice i shall re read wiki tonight and make some notes and hopefully it will sink in the threads you speak of sound interesting aswell. I have a fairly good xdf to use with tunerpro it seams to match my .bin well.
