Title: Buying a tuned ECU Post by: overclockedpc on August 20, 2015, 02:09:30 PM If I were to purchase a used ECU with say, an APR tune, what would be needed to get it working on my car? Vin rewrite? Immo off?
Title: Re: Buying a tuned ECU Post by: nyet on August 20, 2015, 02:19:19 PM Which ECU?
Title: Re: Buying a tuned ECU Post by: overclockedpc on August 20, 2015, 02:34:19 PM It would be an ME7.5, specifically 8E0909518AK.
I just started entertaining that idea, but before I start looking for one, I thought I'd ask what needs to be done if I do find one. I just want a little more power without having to spend $600 to buy an APR tune from a dealer. Title: Re: Buying a tuned ECU Post by: SB_GLI on August 20, 2015, 07:22:45 PM it'd just need to be immo defeated, assuming you have a car that is compatible with that ecu.

Title: Re: Buying a tuned ECU Post by: overclockedpc on August 20, 2015, 10:03:46 PM I did?

Title: Re: Buying a tuned ECU Post by: overclockedpc on August 20, 2015, 10:42:25 PM 94/93 octane. The community project says its tuned for 94.
Title: Re: Buying a tuned ECU Post by: nyet on August 20, 2015, 10:53:09 PM It'll be fine on 91.. will just pull some timing.
Title: Re: Buying a tuned ECU Post by: overclockedpc on August 21, 2015, 01:17:47 AM Now I'm tempted to try the file. As it stands now, is that tune good enough for everyday driving until I am able to learn and play around with maps?

Do some logging to make sure CF's aren't insane. Title: Re: Buying a tuned ECU Post by: overclockedpc on August 21, 2015, 01:35:46 PM Which ECUs can be cross flashed with the AK? AF?
