Title: Removing old tune
Post by: Michaelblankenship17 on September 08, 2015, 11:01:27 PM
Hey guys! I have an amd tune on an Abox b5 s4 and was wondering how I could go about removing the tune? Usually I could just flash over an old tune but the Ecu is locked and I can't communicate with it! I know this is probably a noob question but maybe I need a nudge in the right direction!

Desolder the chip, replace with blank.

Is there no way to flash over the old tune?

If it isn't socketed, and it is refusing the write commands, no.

How do I go about getting a new chip to flash?

Maybe I'm understanding it wrong as well, couldn't I start in boot mode and flash over it?

Sorry, yes, assuming it isn't socketed.

If it IS socketed, you'll have to desolder the socket and replace with a blank flash.

Not sure my post was clear on that.
