Title: Fueling via custom EGT sensor Post by: fknbrkn on September 11, 2015, 06:46:41 AM Hi
i ve installed k-type EGT sensor with 0-5V controller (very cheap btw) and plug it into 2nd O2 sensor connector. little asm work, new map to convert voltage to temp and all seems good - tats_w showing actual egt. But my sensor is installed in turbine housing near the downpipe flange. and the question - is there a big difference between temperatures in the housing like the stock placement in k04-023 and my setup ? Asking because egt doesnt exceed 600c even at wot pulls. test log with TT225 file (i know there is no maf, wrong pid etc.. because have no time), supersafe TABGSS = 550C :) Title: Re: Fueling via custom EGT sensor Post by: rnagy86 on September 11, 2015, 07:27:00 AM Post-turbo EGT will be colder for sure, but can't say exactly how much colder. Can be 50C or 150C, can't say without actually measuring on your setup. 600 seems really low unless you run E85 and low boost/timing. As a reference I am between 600-700C using E85 with the EGT sensor at the exhaust manifold where the OEM sensor is, and usually get up to 850C on long WOT pulls.
