Title: 06A 906 032HN: SW0001
Post by: adam- on September 23, 2015, 11:20:02 AM
I've attached my well-defined .kp for whoever wants it.  Not fully defined, but pretty well done.  It's all I've needed so far, anyway.

I've also attached my file.  It is by no means complete, but someone might like bits out of it.

Spec:
No Rear O2
N249 Removed
N119 Removed
SAI Removed
TFSi/R8 Coils with appropriate dwell times
Bosch 630cc Injectors
NLS/AL

It should be noted that fueling is a little craggy up top and needs attention.  Will be looking at it in the coming weeks, once I've got good compression again.

It's quite rich, and has KFLDRAPP set quite high and CWMDAPP set to 8 for "uncontrolled" boost.  Use knowing this.

Thanks, Adam. I've been meaning to look into the changes needed for the R8 coils. This will help.

Since I can't open a KP file can you give me a hint what you are modding to adjust for the TFSI coils? I have them on my car and it runs great and is very smooth. I can't imagine needing modifications, but maybe I'm missing something? I imagine you are just changing the coil pack dwell time? What is the difference between the upgraded coils and stockers?

Thanks in advance!

Yup, a slightly shorter dwell time.  I'll get a screenshot of what I've changed when I can see the file, unless someone wants to beat me to it.

But yeah, just dwell times really.

How did you arrive at the values you used? Did you just use the dwell times from a stock file that uses these coils originally?

Has there been proven performance improvements with these coils?

Meh, probably not, but they look cool.  Running a standard plug gap and no misfires at 26 psi.

Im running more than standard gap at 20 PSI and my car runs great without any dwell changes. I'm definitely going to look into changes though just to make sure I get the most life out of them as well.
