Title: A box, coding out O2 and EGT
Post by: zillarob on August 17, 2011, 10:57:36 PM
So giving this a shot finally.
I ran the M box through Tunerpro and followed what it said on the s4 wiki.
Put an original and this new M box file in ols and did a compare.
I then put the A box files in ols and searched for strings near where the changes were.
Most of the stuff seemed to jive and looked like it could work, lol. Pretty new to this but this is what I had going on

Hopefully checksums are good, looked like something was happening there. If any of you guys would care to look at it, would be much appreciated.

Hello! I remember, there was PIA to remove EGT sensors from US-S4 with A box. One of egt sensor was bad, another working. I am disable cdatr\cdats, no DTC about egt sensors, but 1400 millibar and 50% throttle, i.e. limp mode. At the end, i am rewrite eeprom and flash with euro-D box dumps, and all was fine, no egt and no limp mode.

Most of it looked to line right up with the exception of the changes in the area of 0x181AA. Things look a little different between the m and a here.

Maybe go to plan b and code them out of my vast stg1 mbox and flash that on there.
How difficult is it to recode it for the bosch maf? Just some tables and that offset?

If you reflash only 29f800bb dump (from US  A box to euro box, i.d.k. M box is euro or us), you can obtain "engine blocked by immobilaizer" DTC and engine off after 2 sec of working. In this case, you will need rewrite eeprom content from us to euro to.

Thanks guys!
I think plan b looks to be the way to go.

I have very similar problem here... Only difference is that my car is Passat 1.8T ME7.5. When I code out aftercat O2 sensor I'm getting limp mode no matter what. No DTC are stored, just 0.5bar of boost and limited torque. I don't know what to do, please help :)
