Title: Why did VW calibrate PID differently between transverse and longitudinal 1.8T ?

Why did VW calibrate PID differently between transverse and longitudinal 1.8T ?

Can someone explain the reasoning?

KFLDRQ0 (P)
KFLDRQ1 (I)
KFLDRQ2 (D)

Transverse on the left, longitudinal on the right:

Longitudinal vs lateral G's acting upon the mass of the wg?

Just kidding  ;D

Ha.

I'd like to see 2.7t versions.

Sounds like there are different methods to tune pid's.
I wonder if a computer tuned all three at the same time for the one on the left, and maybe a human tuned the one on the right in 3 individual steps?

Been trying to get my head around this stuff lately, and the one on the right made me think of this

I think it's a simple answer: They were calibrated by two different engineers.
The better one is the left because of this simple rule: a map should always be as flat as possible. steep gradients are not good for interpolating. and an ecu is always interpolating on maps.

Could it be that since ME7 is load based that the PIDs for the different versions are the way they are because of vehicle weight? i wonder if they are the same for the FWD 2wd versions compared to quattro in the Audis and 4motion in VW. I want to add that I just realized the comparison above is between a sports car and a passenger car. Maybe the the oem tune is slightly more aggressive in the TT
