Title: Modifying, not disabling asr, possible?
Post by: rockcandy on October 09, 2015, 03:39:26 PM
Scenario, rwd using factory ecu

What I'm looking for is the ability to retain traction control but modify its allowable slip. I don't think it will be a problem on my big tire but with a smaller tire, I'm a little concerned about hooking up in less than stellar conditions.

I'm planning on going to pro efi for ease and fail safes but in the mean time, I wouldn't mind fiddling With this.

I did read that already and that's not what I'm asking. I don't want traction control off. I want it modified to be less sensitive, but still there. Basically, I'm wondering if it's adjustable.

This is what I'm asking for...

Reread the thread, but have the FR handy :)

Two of the maps mentioned do exactly that. 0xff just disables ASR completely.

Easily doable.  Some tuners in the UK offer it.  Absolutely awesome set up right.  Full throttle in the wet and ECU/engine is only slightly limited so it doesnt just die soon as wheelspin is detected

Rockandy, welcome to nef. Been watching your build. This is very easy to do and there is also no reason to change to a new ecu. The learning curve is steep on these units but the ability and control is beyond what standalone ecus offer. Think of its as a full motorsports ecu with all the cool stuff hidden or turned off from the factory. We have rolling anti lag, boost by gear, amazing data logging ability, superb knock control and more. I would enjoy seeing your car get into the 9s on stock ecu. You might beat me to it.

I am the high hp single car from CA btw.
