Title: Re: Massive timing retardation + low power
Post by: BlkSerialKilla on November 14, 2015, 06:03:53 PM
Not to thread jack but is it possible my MAF is going bad? I'm feeling my timing correction is possibly due to it. I have a log and pictures bellow.

If you can't make 12psi with 100% dc you have other problems

Also, maybe look at how many knock events you have. 7.5 degrees of timing being pulled is not massive. That will likely only take 1.5 degrees pulled to eliminate entirely.....

I'm not sure if that statement is application-specific for this particular engine/setup, but I've never seen a case where I had 7-8 deg of timing pull, and only 1.5 taken from the table was enough to resolve it. I'm sure I'm missing something somewhere.

It will. It's the same the other way around.
0.75 to much can couse 3 - 4.5 deg retard.

I agree, I've been attempting to resolve that issue and right now everything is pointing to the wastegate going south unfortunate for me.  I've tried boost leak test and have corrected everything else I could find. So I'm hunting a good k04 or F21. I'm at 172k miles is this to be expected around this mileage? I've been experiencing this issue since 160k.

I'm going to do a new log supplementing zkrvf_0-3 and report back.

There's not much point in wasting time tweaking bad hardware. Get your HW problems sorted first, then tune.
