Title: Airbag 65535 dtc
Post by: armageddon on November 18, 2015, 02:37:04 PM
Thought that someone over here could help with this, as this seems to be a common fault with B5 S4

Is there a way to remove "65535 - Internal Control Module Memory Error"?

Vag-com can't, neither cheap ebay airbag reset tool.

control module is 8D0959655J

Unfortunately the only fix I have found is to replace the airbag module :(

Expensive :(

If you find a good solution, please post!

You can try writing a good Eeprom to clear the "65535 - Internal Control Module Memory Error".

Like nyet mentioned, it's best if you replace it. I still need to re-flash the Eeprom for my Allroad in the Winter time.
For some reason the memory checksum gets corrupted once a while when it's below zero celsius lol...

The closest I could find for B5/8D0 is 8D0959655L
It's similar to 8D0959655J which has both Front and Side airbag equipped I believe.

And how can I write it?

I found a program "crash eraser" on digital-kaos but I assume it only work with the crash eraser tool(expensive)

I also have some 655J dump files

I use a tool from eBay called Carprog with the A1 cable.
You flash it using the regular OBDII port via the K line.

This could be a temporary fix only though.
I know it's not easy to replace but you can also try an used one from ebay.
