Title: Timing Pull - Bosch control strategy
Post by: vtraudt on December 12, 2015, 06:03:22 AM
Can someone shed some light into the control strategy Bosch is using to determine 'timing pull' ignition retard dwkrz_0 etc?
What are the key input parameters used to determine timing pull?

Notch filter of knock voltage, combined with time windows to guess at cyl.

The knock filter looks for frequencies and amplitudes coming from the (2?) knock sensors and then determines (together with crank position sensor) the amount of retard (and for which cylinder). Very similar to misfire (just using time crank impulses).

Anyone ever overlaid 'heavy timing pull' with 'no timing pull' knock sensor voltage curves/logs?
