Title: Ecu question regarding Apr Post by: 1slicks4 on December 27, 2015, 08:08:38 PM My s4 is tuned by Apr. Now with all the discussion based on obd flashing and chipping. Does anyone know whether or not I have to replace my Ecu to flash it or is it able to be flashed. I have no proof or verification that it's been chipped or programmed. Any help would be great!

APR used a few different methods of tuning their ecu's, and used different hardware solutions over the years. If it has anything other than the original chip on the board, you won't be able to flash over.

So I'm finding that's chipped or so I read! But I'll take a picture next time I'm in the shop and have the ecu out of the car and dig deeper. Thanks
Title: Re: Ecu question regarding Apr Post by: slappynuts on February 08, 2016, 07:29:55 PM From what I have seen you can read the ones that have been hard chipped through the OBD port to make a back up ECU. Anything after that I would not mess with it unless you are OK with flashing over your tune with a stock tune.
