things u need: 1. chipquick http://www.amazon.com/Accessories-Power-Tools-Hardware/b/ref=sc_bb_br_305244011_2?ie=UTF8&node=552262&no=305244011&keywords=chip%20quik%2Cchipquik&me=AKJ57Q9VZBBO8&rank=salesrank 2. stock chip- mine was a 29f800bb http://www.batronix.com/shop/chips/eproms.html 3. Galletto or some other type of boot mode interface. 4. soldering iron with solder. 5. soldering flux 6. desoldering braid is nice to have as well. How to: Use your chipquik to desolder the chip... it comes with good instructions. clean the board up and install the new chip... make sure you align it correctly just tin the iron and dab each pin, don't use too much solder or u will be there all day cleaning it off. you must flash it in boot mode for the first time. Here's what I do. Solder a spop44 chip holder on to the board instead of the chip. This allows you to remove the chip easily and install another one. You don't have to worry about bricking the ecu while out tunning and having to bootmode the the ECU in the car, I also have 2 chips, one stock and one mapped. 5 minute swap over, no need to sort the Immo. saves having to have a spare ecu. I'm gonna have to install a chip holder... and keep a spare chip in the glove box just in case.
