Title: Cross flashing what are the diferences
Post by: vwgolfcr on January 14, 2016, 11:24:26 AM
Hello im new here!

i would like to know, if someone knows and can help me, why is not posible to cross flash an Audi .bin into a VW ecu and make it work!

is there a diference in the wiring on the car? are the ECUS different? can i use a Audi a4 in my 2002 golf? both are 1.8t both manual transmission. practicaly the same but diferent when talking about ECU!

i would really apreciate if someone can shed some light on this matter!

great info and even greater comunity btw!

thanks!

why? really why?
engines are different. audi engine with electronic thermostate for example.
ive seen a mk4 golf running with an a4 ecu with mk4 bin.
so you can try and tell us if it work :)

the actual question is why the ecu got bricked after writing an audi .bin onto the vw ECU.

Im not the guru on the matter thats why i reach out to the community!

does anyone have the patience to elaborate?

thanks again!

see if you flash the bios on your pc , its an IBM , and you flash it with an HP bios , same kind of pc , but different chipsets , you just bricked your motherboard  ;D
