Title: reflash tool suggestions for MED9 to current ECU's. Post by: vwnut8392 on January 27, 2016, 12:54:38 PM i've been looking to add new reflash cables to my collection for MED9 and up cars but im not sure whats good and whats not with these cars.
im interested in the FSI, TFSI, 2.5, 2.0 TDI etc ECU's. i have 2 MPPS cables and i have had no luck reading anything newer than an MK4 with them as i get an error when i try to do an FSI or TFSI engine for example. so whats out there that is a one size fits all weather it be over OBD or bench flashing? im open to anything weather its genuine or knock off. thanks guys. These are what I use for most of my cars. If i get a TDI I normally just a friends Legit Kess tool since it has all the Tprot tools for OBD flashing.

Post by: vwnut8392 on January 27, 2016, 02:28:53 PM whats opinions on the FGtech galletto V4 units? im just looking at the knockoff stuff on ebay for now, if i like what i see and i find it useful than i tend to buy the original units. i just cant justify spending 100's or 1000's of dollars on a unit that wont work how i want it to or only does one ECU and the rest is the same as what the other tools i have already do.

Also have you tried reading? what he meant to say was "hes done well over 100 1k0907115b flashes." because that shit doesnt work with any other med9. lol. Some car applications might make it trickier, but it'll flash any Golf based MED9 (Golf, Octavia, Leon, A/S3 etc) The only one it might have a problem with is B7 A4s, but I've not tried, nor do I foresee any reason to need to. Could you give an example or two? Title: Re: reflash tool suggestions for MED9 to current ECU's. Post by: gman86 on January 28, 2016, 09:33:32 AM good luck. You've clearly got a problem with folk using clone tools going by your irrational responses. If they didn't work, there would be no market for them. This is a hobbyist forum. If you have a problem with clone tools then you're going to have a bad time. Title: Re: reflash tool suggestions for MED9 to current ECU's. Post by: gman86 on January 28, 2016, 09:35:22 AM I'm curious about this statement. Could you give an example or two? I believe the B7 A4 MED9 are troublesome with clone tools, but I've never had the need to try. My tool has so far flashed: 2005 A3 2.0 TFSI 2006 Golf GTI 2008 8P S3 2010 Cupra R 2010 Golf R 2012 Golf R 2012 ED35 The only problems I've ever had during a read or write has been laptop battery related. The tool has ALWAYS recovered over the port without issue. Title: Re: reflash tool suggestions for MED9 to current ECU's. I will be interrested buying and trying MPPS v13.01. From eBay over a year ago. That and Galletto v54 work on these ECUs. MPPS is a bit quicker writing than Galletto though. |
