Title: Failing to read 95040 from 4D0907551P Post by: groveguy89 on January 28, 2016, 06:50:07 PM So I've been trying to read the 95040 from a 2001 6spd A6 4D0907551P and I keep getting a fail no matter what I try. I would like to write a 551M e2p eventually but I'm not even going to try to write anything before I read first. I've tried both OBD and bootmode and no matter what it always fails. I'm sorry if this has been covered but I searched quite a bit and I'm about to pull all my hair out. Any help is greatly appreciated. Here is what I'm looking at.

I can swap the ECU for a 551M with a 95040 with immo off, and it should be funtional, right? Anyone want a 2001 6 speed A6 with 130k lol pointless tuning the NA 2.8 anyway. It is slow and you can't make any power out of it. 2.7t or GTFO Title: Re: Failing to read 95040 from 4D0907551P Post by: dream3R on January 29, 2016, 06:40:52 PM So you're telling me I'm stuck with this POS ECU? Lol this just turned into a F/S thread. Anyone want a 2001 6 speed A6 with 130k lol Well assuming the guy above is right, and it is me3.8.2, it's like turning a ps2 into a p3 man. And even if you could tune it, you'd get, what, 5hp out of it? Why bother? As an enthusiast, you should know that ANY improvement one can make is welcomed. Even if it is negligible :P Title: Re: Failing to read 95040 from 4D0907551P Post by: groveguy89 on January 29, 2016, 08:23:09 PM Ummm this car is a 2.7T...
Title: Re: Failing to read 95040 from 4D0907551P Post by: groveguy89 on January 29, 2016, 08:42:06 PM Do I have the wrong ECU? Lmao
Edit-yes yes I do. That explains A LOT. Moral of the story; never assume the ECU in the car when you bought it is the correct one.
