Title: Making sure my CATR is the correct hex
Post by: rzgibbs on February 11, 2016, 07:56:50 PM
I'm using one of the stock 4z7907551R.bin to work through a stage 1 tune for a BEL 03 allroad. Once I heard the difficult times had with 551S version, I switch to the R. I have a couple of xdfs all stating the CATR hex is  0x199B6. I know that there are a few differences between the 7.1 and the 7.1.1, but the CDATR and CDATS are in the same place as the original m-box. On the wiki for the m-box it states 0x192CA is correct. I don't know enough to verify which one is correct.

Quote
The acronyms are Bosch's Motronic map names from the Funktionsrahmen. If noted, map locations are for the S4 M-box and L-box (8D0907551M and 8D0907551L, 6sp manual and tip, respectively)

Also, read the damn sticky

I read the sticky and was aware the wiki is using the M-box and L-box. I was also using the .xdf from the R you just linked. Having said that, I needed to correct the LAMFA table address on that particular .xdf and I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't modifying the wrong hex. When I was using my original bin pulled from the car, I had found an .xdf here for the S (that had been derived from your linked R) and it has labeled the CATR in the comment as "*INCORRECT ADDRESS*" (0x199B6).
