Title: LAMFA changes on first tune
Post by: Dave9n3 on February 15, 2016, 03:14:51 PM
Hi,

I'm starting my first tune from virtually  base file apart from 4 bar FPR fueling and also SAI and rear o2 deletes added.

Attached is the screenshot of my now modified LAMFA table. I've looked at the stage 1 me7.5 tune for ideas and also read a sticky at the top of this page regarding dialling in fueling. Aiming for 12.4 AFR at peak torque and going for 11.6-11.8 AFR at redline. I have slowly increased this as RPM raises until i get to my final desired AFR at the redline. My LAMFA table looks different to others as it only uses 50, 60, 89.9, 95 and 100% for the pedal. Hence i have changed the rows for 89.9 onwards

I'd appreciate some feedback on this table and also some advice on how I could improve it and or any other things I should change before I flash this file to the car and take some logs.

TIA  ;D

I've seen on the stage one project some changes were made to zklamfaw, is this something i should just look at once I've logged it with the lamfa changes. Tried to enrich slightly early in the hope that ill be rich enough by the time i hit peak torque.

Thanks once again Adam, i'll end up owing you a brewery never mind a pint.

It just changes how quickly the new LAMFA is adopted.  If you set it to low you'll find consumption sucks as you'll go over a bump and press the throttle a little and it'll enrich.  It can be lowered if you feel you want fuel a little quicker (time quicker).

Monitor BTS too, you might find you get to like 5k and it just dumps fuel because BTS is high.

I think ZKLAMFAW on my file is set very high as standard (unless I've defined it wrong) so not sure how it'll turn out.

I'll checksum this file and then try it on the car. Few logs of 3rd gear to redline and I'll see how it looks.

Just a quick one, I believe ZKLAMFAW works in the opposite way to you describe (i.e. it's not actually a time constant as the FR describes). I have mine set to 50 (up from 16.7) and find it works well.

From another thread:

The filter is basically:

current value + ((|new value - current value|)*constant)

I was way off before.

My stock value for ZKLAMFAW is 13107.00

Not sure if this is right though it lined up properly with a 032HN ols file for my 032TL ecu so i guess its right. Seems very high though - any idea why this might be?

The settings from the HN file you copied are likely wrong.

13,107 is a typical value for ZKLAMFAW and equivalent to a 20% change per cycle. Not high at all.

I use 0.0015259 conversion factor in my definitions.
