Title: 2013/2014 Focus ST250 Full A2L/XDF
Post by: Bye on February 29, 2016, 10:26:20 AM
Does anyone have a full A2L or strategy document for a 13/14 Focus ST250 strategy GMBN1 or similar?
ECU is MED17 TC1767.

I've attached ORI of the strategy from my own vehicle. I have a partial OLS from a preproduction 2012 I found on site here, but the OLS is far from "complete" status though shows that the creator had knowledge of the Ford strategy with proper identifier names and so forth.

I have other ori's for trade if necessary, including 2015 USDM Fiesta ST, 2016 USDM Focus RS.

Thanks.

Ori for trade?
You gotta be kidding me.

Well, I wanted to sweeten the pot some to encourage someone to help out. If I put them out right away, whats the incentive?
There are people that have them that may not share otherwise, unless they get what they may want in return :(

I'm sorry if this is frowned upon. Obviously new here and I don't know the community that well, so I'm just testing the waters.
I thought it would be nice considering the Focus RS isn't even out yet, and someone without the information I seek will not be able to do much with the binaries anyways. :(

Its not outside of the realm for me to make OLS for them as well with the tables I do know, but part of my purpose is to get a listing of maps to transfer for these other ones as Ford uses a very common structure and its not that hard to transfer.

To be more clear, I'm looking for a more complete A2L for one of the modern Ecoboost Fords so that I have more of the names/descriptions of the functions. Someone has created the 1/4ish complete one out there, and they clearly had knowledge of the functions and descriptions, or the strategy document of Ford to do so.

I can grab every single map in all of them, but without it, I'm left to digging through Tricore assembly to reverse engineer what the ECU is actually doing. This is long and arduous, and my goal is not to take years to figure what maps might do.

If exchanges for this kind of information aren't palatable, what is the usual route? Not everyone has the means to get the binaries for cars literally rolling off the production line right now not even in public hands, so I figured I'd offer that if it encouraged someone to help me.

Ok, to the point.

1. Your binaries are worth absolutely nothing. The fact that you are even offering them is a joke.
2. The info you are asking for, depending on how much it has been leaked, can be worth anywhere from several hundred to several thousand USD.

Nobody is going to give you an A2L for a one year old model free of charge.

Thank you for being to the point, I appreciate it. These are things I'm not aware of :)
I'm obviously new to this whole side of the spectrum, though I'm quite experienced in the technical side of reversing the system..

Would the RS binary be more valuable if I made an OLS for it and populated the ~1400 maps I know? This is a car thats not even out yet, hence I figured someone may have an A2L or strategy document from an Ecoboost vehicle, making it quite easy to track down and add maps in for a binary, but they may not have said binary on account of not being able to pull it yet from the vehicle. ~1400 maps is good enough to make a decent tune for the vehicle, but my interest is not merely in the tune, but the academic understanding of the structure.

The Fiesta is obviously out and done, and I suppose that binary is worthless, as anyone could pull it, but what about the RS? A development GT? Does the binary ever hold value, or do I have to add maps to it in hopes to have someone at least approach me saying they have a more complete definition?

I'm here for help, and my point in offering what I have is that I'm not here to take without giving in return.

Thanks for giving it to me straight.

This is NOT a forum for ridiculous glass bead trading.

Contribute, or don't contribute. Period.

If you want to play little tuner secret handshake games, do it elsewhere.

Usually no. It can only be useful for pentesting if there is no developed protocol to read the ECU. If there is one, then it is fairly useless on it's own.
Either way, the people who have the A2L will either want money or another non-publicly available A2L that they do not have yet. Goes without saying that the A2L must have a matching binary.

People often ask what somebody would do if they won the lottery.

Me? I'd buy all of the leaked A2Ls, cost no object, and publish them. All of them.

I'm hoping some grand master calibrator at Bosch, on his death bed, uploads the biggest 7zip ever to have graced mega.nz.
