Title: LOOK WHERE I BOUGHT 800 GB of DAMOS FILES FROM :)
Post by: mister t on December 15, 2016, 02:35:02 PM
https://chipster.no/index.php?_route_=Tuning-files-mod-ews-delete-immo-off/Pro-Tuning-Damos-database-FTP-Download

Guy's site is Chipster.no (as in Norway)

I've personally spoken to him and he's a solid guy who tries to support grassroots tuning by making affordable flashing software. I actually bought his BMW flashing software as it allows me to flash MS41, 42, 43, 50, and 54, along with correcting checksums, all for $50 using any old ebay VAG-COM cable. I mean for the price, how can you go wrong?

Anyway, I told the site owner that I'd post up a link in case anyone was interested in purchasing the DAMOS collection for themselves.

It's all on a server and for the low low price of $265 CAD you can download it in different bits and pieces. Why, because it's 800 GIGS OF DATA!!!!

It's not just DAMOS files either, there are folders containing Bosch development/programming software, internal emails, etc.... I suspect at one point in 2015, a zip drive just happened to walk out of Bosch head offices and found it's way to the interwebz.....

So go on, have a look at the link and give those files a good home on your hard drive ;)

PS: there also may be 20,000 tuning files for all makes and models of Bosch ECU's from 1980-2015, but I'm sure no one is interested in that hehehehe  ;D

I can assure you that it'll be contained in that DAMOS database.

Also, I'm going to try and post up some of the software that I pulled out of some of these DAMOS folders. It's weird, it's basically like the entire development history, software and all gets thrown into the DAMOS folder.

Anyway, let me know if that ends up being of any use to you. Also, if you happen to be looking for any development software, let me know and I'll send it your way.

We should all put in 10 dollars and just buy it once and upload the shit out of it.

it's set up on an SQL type server so you need an individual password.

Not sure if a single password would cover all members.

In any event, I'd discourage that approach as I actually spoke to him on the phone and he had indicated that he paid a lot more than $265 for this stuff and he's basically just trying to re-coup some of his costs.

I've looked around and seen this package offered for way more money (around 400 euros). However, at that price, people are after the 20,000 tuning files that are included in the download, so the DAMOS portion is usually less.

I'd email him and see if he'd just sell you access to the DAMOS files, I'll bet he can probably give you a good price.

Not the S4 and RS4 V8 ones I posted up.....

I looked for literally hundreds of hours and came up blank.

If you can provide links to these free downloads for these files then by all means go ahead.

(PS: if it's any of those 6 or 10 gig DAMOS pack downloads, they're not on them)

Hi,
Trying to find files for the 4B0 907 551 N [4B0907551N]  ECU.
Car is a A6 4B 2002 2.7T TT5 model.

I'm running a 8D0 907 551 L  file now which is more or less OK, it's just that I would sleep a lot better if I were running the documented original files.  :)

If someone has the 4B0 file on disk or can direct me a little on the internet that would be great.
It's probably hidden within this 800 GB of Damos files but I think it keeps hiding from me.

Thanks!

Yep. That's the same one I've saved with the Nefmoto software before I started to get addicted to this forum.
To make the set complete I need the defs/xdf/maps of this 4B0907551N ECU.
If you could find that too I would be most thankful.

It must be there. Somewhere hidden in 800 Gb of info.   ;)

EDIT:
Found it (I think) in your file_LIST.7Z:

Maybe comparing the 3 files will help me.  Could you post them? Thanks!

Downloaded the whole 800GB package yesterday.
Not very much useful information in it in my opinion.
Lots of already known DAMOS resp. OLS Files.
Some internals incl. tools (useless w/o hardware), mails, etc.
But not even a single one FR.

I'm not sure it's the same package. I did find at least one FR, but I didn't see any of the tuning files being posted in what I dl'd.

I respectfully disagree. This DAMOS pack has all of the N/A V8 files (i.e. B6/B7 S4 4.2 V8, RS4 4.2 FSI, it even has a close relative of the 3.0 V6 DAMOS if you look under the 4DOxxx559x files). It also has a ton of the most recent MED 17.5 DAMOS files which are not found in the usual DAMOS downloads.

Ive been through an number of the .a2l files for the me9,1 and none of them line up properly, so I would suggest dont take the values as gospel!

Can you give an example of a dodgy one? Are you using the included .S19?

I went through the 4E0910559E file (A4W5E_2g.A2L) and can confirm the addresses line up.
According to ETKA it is for a 2004+ D3 A8 with ASN engine code in Mexico or "rest of world".

(Note: corrected the ECU part#)

I have seen a couple of people post up map references based on the .a2l's which aren't correct.

Now I have to admitt I'm not sure how you use the included .s19 as well..

I posted up an incorrect map address for an 8P0907115AP file, but hadn't appreciated that the different sw ver numbers didn't line up properly (quite unusual in MED9). Once I double checked the offset, it was fine.

If you're using WinOLS, you can drag it straight in as a new project. Or when you create a new project, you can use a standard binary dump, or a Motorola-Hex (*.s19) file. That's the format these files are supplied in.

Yeah, a 3.0 V6 definition has been incredibly elusive. I remember when I started my own definition project on that one, absolutely no one could provide me with a definition file from that engine family. I ended up patching a functional one together using mainly Porsche V8 ME 7.1.1 and VW VR6 ME 7.1.1 files.

Having said that, I'm kind of glad that I had to make my own definition files for both the V8 and V6 before finding these. I've spent so much time looking at raw hex dumps that I can find all the maps I need in just about any ME 7 file in my sleep now lol.

Without cluttering this thread any more, ASN is a 3.0 V6 (horrible engine to tune) but 4D0907559E is a S6 6MT 4.2 ANK (little less but still quite horrible to tune) binary. Something doesn't add up.

For those of you that have downloaded all these files, could you kindly point me to where any Porsche files are in any specific rar.  I downloaded four of them today without finding any and would appreciate any info on where any potential Porsche files are before downloading all the rar files and not finding any Porsche in any rar.

I want to buy dsmos for Opel PSG16... Help..
