Title: P0130 After Wideband ECU swap - 2000 B5 A4 1.8t

Hello all!

I am a bit stumped in the process of converting my 2000 narrowband, DBW, ATW engine code, non-VVT over to a wideband ECU. I am getting code P0130 - Malfunction in circuit for the primary O2 sensor after following online documents for such a swap.

Parts used:
4B0-906-018-CH ECU (2001 B5 A4 AWM)
Bosch 17351 Wideband (brand new OE)
OEM wires pulled from an AWM harness

I re-pinned the four existing wires to the new 6 pin connector as follows:
Pin#1 goes to Pin#3
Pin#2 goes to Pin#4
Pin#3 goes to Pin#5
Pin#4 goes to Pin#1

Then I ran pin #71 at the ECU to pin #2 using OEM wires from an old harness and soldered them together.

I then coded out VVT in ESCONF as my engine doesn't have VVT. I re-coded my cluster to IMMO 3.

Car seems to run and drive fine, measure blocks 032 shows active trimming and 033 shows live O2 feedback. The O2 even goes ready, however I am getting the above mentioned P0130 code.

I also ran the second wire that is normally in the engine harness from pin #52 to pin #6 at the wideband (though the wideband doesn't use pin #6) just for good measure, no change.

I also ditched the solder joint in place of a OEM quality crimp repair, no change.

I have purchased a spare 018CH ecu for testing, but haven't installed that yet.

The car is bone stock otherwise.

Has anyone ran into this or have any insight on what to check? Anyone have wiring diagrams to confirm my work?

What has been done to the rear O2 sensor?
Improperly coding out/deleting diagnosis of the rear O2 sensor may cause the P0130.

I did also attempt to code out the rear O2 though it was still present. Let me look further into the proper removal of the rear sensor. For now, since the rear sensor is still in place and functional, I'll revert all of those changed back.

I bet you your P0130 will go if you revert back the rear O2 sensor. I did the same, LOL.
