Title: Original ECU file location?
Post by: Osmosis on June 08, 2017, 02:29:14 PM
I have a 2000 A6 2.7t with the ECM = 4 B0907551L, TIP automatic transmission.

I have a lot of experience with tuner pro but I have been finding that there is a big difference in tuning the ECU of GM car vs the VW/Auid ECU.   That being said, I have been reading the beginner links and threads.

Feed me please! I"m a child here as for now   :)   As of now,   I ordered a blue cable off of ebay and looking forward to get it so I can start with some data logging.  I have entered many of the XDF files in tuner pro and I have looked at some of the tunes found on this forum, then looking at the many different parameters via the tune with different XDF files.  Then comparing values of the many different definitions in the various tables.

I have some questions that I hope will be easily answered.

Where do I find the "original ECU file"?  Once I connect to the ECU, do I read ECU info and save that as my .bin?     I"m not looking for a "free tune", I just want to find my starting place.

So, the original ECU file and XDF file, where do I find them?  when I connect to the car via ME7 with my cable, yes I have downloaded the drivers for the cable :)   Is there a particular XDF file I need for my ECU?   My ECU box is 4B0907551L.

I have a 2000 A6 2.7t with the TIP transmission.  I just finishing rebuilding the motor & transmission, just broke in with 3K miles and she drives amazing!

Help is greatly appreciated!
Thank you.

I did read the stickies.   Sorry, I was obviously confused, I"m sure I am not the first.   As of the repeat post, I've no clue  why my post spammed?  I'll delete the repeat post.

Thanks for the link, just trying to learn here.
 :)

Like I said, I was a bit confused, so if I did so it was by mistake, not on purpose.  I am also trying to figure this out ... and I just had neck surgery and on some pain meds, not that is an excuse.
