Title: 1.8T ME7 Whats best LDRXN curve request?
Post by: ibizaCUPRA18t on November 13, 2017, 12:23:18 PM
Hi guys,

I've been trying to get around 1.2 to 1.3 bars of boost request by altering LDRXN. What would be a good smooth transition throughout the graph?

Should I:

-Max request at around 1800 RPM, then very low decrease up to 4500, then taper down quickly to 6500+?

Maybe you guys had better experience with this. I am going to try this on a K03S, and maybe a K04 as well. So suggestions are welcome!

K03-052 will snap to 1.3 bar @ ~2200RPM and be out of breath @ ~4500RPM
K04-02x won't reach 1.3 bar before ~2600RPM and hold 1 bar to 6800RPM

Up top your limitations will likely be injector on k04s.

I run 4 bar FPR with 376 TT injectors (434cc)
I'm on stock dual SMIC and stock downpipe with cats.
1 bar, lambda 0.85 @ 6800 RPM and IDC is at ~90%

So I can confirm this.

Yeah I understand the injector limitations fairly well. However, I'm just looking to know where and how my LDRXN load curve should look like.

Like KasperH said, the K03s goes "out of breath" at 4500rpm, which I dont really know what he means by numbers. Does he mean, from 1.3 bar to 0.8 at 4500rpm, or something similar? I'm just trying to apply some suggestions so I can finish my LDRXN curve in a reasonable, understandable graph which tapers down (hence K03/K04)...

Also, at what Boost level should my turbo settle down to from 5-6k+ (so I know where to make my graph linear at a set amount of load). Am I wrong, and there is a different approach to it?

EDIT: My LDRXN Curve, how does it look? For a K03-058 (K03S) .. Hmm how do I add an image to this forum. (http://file:///C:/Users/My%20Documents/Desktop/LDRXN1.png)

ecuxplot has a compressor map function which you can use to compare to k03 and k04 compressor maps.

Find a compressor map for the turbo, then you can calculate exactly where the limitations of the turbo is.
Surge, choke, overspeed and efficiency.

I have a plotted compressor map from when I had my K03s, I'll upload it later.

Does he mean, from 1.3 bar to 0.8 at 4500rpm, or something similar?

1 bar @4500 taper to 0.7 @ 6500.
But the K03s is pretty much useless beyond 6000RPM.
