Title: RB4 crypted dump
Post by: niston on November 16, 2017, 04:54:23 AM
Hi all

I just wanted to ask if the attached RB4 crypt dump seems complete and was read correctly?

I did read it with VAG EEPROM Progger 1.19g [Get Access Code -> Read EEPROM (crypted)] from my cluster, the cluster does not have any problems and works fine.

Interested in calculating the SKC, so I tried feeding the RB4-RB8 crypto tools site with the crypted dump for SKC calculation, but that didn't work.

Anyways, I just want to make sure the dump read correctly so that it might later be used for a restore if needed. If some experienced person could please have a look?

TIA
niston

Are you there?
you need the "decrypted dump"

The only dump to be 100% sure to restore should be read directly from epprom

And the cryptools site is a scam , it probaply collects dumps

NACK. I successfully used VAG EEPROM Programmer 1.19g to restore an encrypted dump I did previously read with VAG EEPROG, too. So can confirm, the dump above is complete.

ACK. I think so too, altho resnolynx indeed responds to emails. He offered to manually reset PIN to zero after the site failed to read the PIN. But I had it sorted all out in the mean time.

Also, can somebody confirm, VAG EEPROG does not correctly read the PIN from RB4 D22 clusters? I tried with two different D22 clusters, and it didn't recognize anything. No immo status, no VIN, no PIN, no nada. But setting Newmode etc worked flawlessly nonetheless.

I managed to manually find the proper PIN offsets for D22 and published them in another thread in the Original Dumps Request forum. Using the same manual method, PIN from any RB4 cluster can be extracted. Just need a decrypted dump. Altho, it takes quite some time if offsets are previously unknown.

Didn't even look at RB8 yet.

I also wish there was more info about these clusters available out there. Offsets for all the things etc. But people are reluctant to share I guess?
Or is everybody just using expensive tools without knowing what these tools actually do?  ;D

As i said to be 100% sure to restore and have rescue backup , i know that eeprom programeer works but not always

My English isn't any better :D

What D number is your cluster? This is printed on the sticker where it reads RB4. And it's also in the dumps, both encrypted and decrypted.

With both my D22 clusters, I am able to read encrypted, read decrypted, set newmode, adjust km, write encrypted and set back to adapted. It also shows the hex dump fine, after reading. But none of the fields under "info" and "immobilizer" show anything at all after decrypted read. So I suppose VAG EEPROG doesn't know how to handle the D22 dumps, perhaps.

As i said to be 100% sure to restore and have rescue backup , i know that eeprom programeer works but not always

What I noticed is that, with USB, it's very flaky. Using COM1/COM2 with a chinesium CH340 based KKL wire, I never had problems (so far).

I got RB4 D36 cluster today (8H0 920 930 L). VAG EEPROG recognizes this type of cluster and shows immobilizer info on decrypted read.

I strongly believe now that VAG EEPROG can not properly parse RB4 D22 dumps, for whatever reason.

D27  is it right?
can you share your decrypted dump?

It is working. I tried it myself and i used the windows tool and not the page. it is enough to read the pin.

read again what i wrote

Very odd... I read what you wrote. Tested windows tool and it doesn't give proper skc, tried with few dumps, all pins mismatch.
