Title: brick ecu me 7.5
Post by: jjuuaannk on May 09, 2018, 01:58:24 PM
Hi, I have a problem with an ecu brick,

I was flashing normally and it took longer than it should, let it finish
and the car did not start anymore,

boot mode and I could do it load the previous map

and surprise as it does not start no light light checkengine no light epc

Anyone else have happened? the intendant 3 or 4 different maps that previously worked without working equally

Thank you

Hi JJ did you test ECU on bench? do you got a diagnostic session on bench after reflash?

Death code.

Hi friends I have been helping jjuuaannk with his problem. ECU was bricked during a reflash of a Launch Control version of the tuned software his was using in the ECU.
The following attemps via boot mode was done in chronological order without sucess.
1- checksumm checked flash + serial eeprom dumps. Also death code was not present.
2- previous working tune
3- oem software into 29F800 flash eprom
4- other oem flash + serial eeprom from another working ECU.
5- last test was done in another ECU using checksumm checked dumps working nicely on bench.
Bricked ECU responds in boot mode but does not work at all for diagnostics on bench, neither in car.
I can post dumps in a while because we out of Office. But do you think about this problem and tests?

Flash is Eprom  not Eeprom. You still have not flashed the Eeprom like said earlier in this thread ^^ should be a  st 95040

Thanks for your reply Marty. Both 29F800 and 95040 was reflashed with dumps from a working ECU (same HW & SW versions) without sucess.

Possible hardware damage? Was the pcb shorted by mistake when put into bootmode?

Maybe possible but boot mode was done carefully to avoid any problem with PCB.

Accompanying, I have the same problem on the same ECU.

During my research I found similar problems with the same ECU. My question after all my tests is: is really a software problem or is more hardware related? I ask because I have tested whole software in other ECU (different number) and works nicely on bench. Also diagnostic interface test indicates that K-lines are "OK" but CAN not like in the test ECU.

Yesterday I discovered my problem, my bench equipment was faulty to send + 12V to pin 62 of the ECU.

I made the right food and everything worked!
