Title: 2002 Allroad with Lbox ecu
Post by: m_haiser on June 21, 2018, 03:45:00 PM
the car runs on the L box programming, however lots of DTCs for improper coding and what not.
I have both my original 4z7907551m ecu bin and my 95040.bin
how can I put my original ecu bin into the L box and be able to start my car?
will the 95040 need to be reprogrammed via boot mode? ive had no luck with boot mode in the past so that scares me

Why not code it properly and leave the immo stuff alone?

The s4 ecu won't take allroad soft coding I tried. Perhaps I'm doing it wrong?

Ah its an s4 8D0 L box, not a 4z7?

Yes, you'll need to flash it with 4z7m and your eeprom

Yes, you'll have to use bootmode.

What should scare you is doing any flashing without a working bootmode setup.

until recently i've had good luck (I flashed an ecu without first verifying checksums, my own mistake)
well shit. I have a bench flash setup, ive just never been able to get boot mode to work
id LOVE to get these lights turned off but it sounds like im gonna need some help doing so, unless I can mail my original
4z7907551m to someone to have them recover it....

Upon further inspection it has to be my bench harness.  I plugged a known working ecu into it and vcds won't even connect.  Time to break out a multimeter

and all of the 12v pins have 12v (11.3 actually, perhaps the problem?) and the grounds are grounds.
k line has continuity to the obd port of my bench harness. im stumped

anyone in the PNW that can help me out? id love to get all these lights turned off and my ride height control working properly.
also still have my old 4z7 ecu I could use if someone would be willing to UNbrick it for me. my dumb ass flashed an incorrectly checksumed file and killed it.
