Title: VCDS 17584 - ME7.1 2.8 A4 E85
Post by: amd is the best on September 14, 2018, 07:03:05 AM
Hello all,

My my daily just popped on a CEL yesterday with code VCDS 17584 - Bank1: O2 (Lambda) Correction Behind Catalyst P1176 - Control Limit Reached and I am trying to make sense of why.

The car is 100% bone stock though I've adjusted KRKTE and ignition timing to run it on E85 (for no good reason really). I've been running it like this for months without an issue until yesterday. Trims are +/-3% max for whatever that is worth.

I've attempted to do some research and have found this thread: http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=524.0 which I think helps me determine how to remove post catalyst control however now I am just trying to make sense of why post cat readings would be off.

The car has a healthy cat system and on gasoline, I've never seen this issue. I am assuming that the cats process E85 emissions differently and the post O2's are expecting different readings.

Would the best plan of attack be to set bit 0 and 2 on CLRHK? Can anyone help confirm that the location 11F7E is CLRHK in my file (attached)?

Thank you all in advance.
