b6 have variant coding so you dont need to reflash just change softcoding with vcds. make sure you unplug the trans control module otherwise it wont accept coding

Ecu AMB for multi 8E0909518G
Ecu AMB for manual 8E0909518F

the 2002 usa version b6 ecu does not recode. the codings are specific to the software number.
the above posted numbers are correct.

518F codings: 16001 16201 16501 16701 16004 16204 16504 16704 16751 16754
so 2 tiptronic codings are accepted. 51 and 54. all others are 5spd manual codings, as this is a 5spd manual specific software.

518G: 16581, this is the only accepted coding. CVT only.

518AK for example, accepts all variants: 16001 16201 16501 16701 16004 16204 16504 16704 16751 16754 16581 16584 16011 16211 16511 16711 16014 16214 16514 16714.
