Hi i have knock problem  on 1.8t AJQ swapped golf 2 stock ecu map
Looks like a fuel supply issue not knock

"WTF" is certainly apt.

What do you mean? Apt? At 5,7krpm ECU detects knock on 3 and somtimes on 2 cylinder. Intercooler and piping are larger by lenght and diesel ic maybe is problem

..................................

apt as in certainly fitting..
You have 14.7 desired AFR from 5k upwards... ofcourse you got knock. So that means your ecu is not stock or something because even by default if you are WOT u got constant afr rich demand on most 1.8/ts atleast.

Same issue with stock bin from forum. Btw. its narrow band o2 sensor

Title: Re: Knock issue
Post by: nyet on June 07, 2019, 03:08:31 PM
Its only 3 deg and only on cyl3.

stock ECUs can often show knock retard. Varies depending on IATs and fuel quality.

also Cylinder 3 is always higher in knock voltage because of casting of the block, but I am sure its common knowledge at this point.

Post by: Wtf on June 07, 2019, 03:53:00 PM
Ok i understand but why on 3 cylinder? Tomorrow i'd check fuel pressure on the run  . I do similar project with ary engine running without problem. Pump can pressure 6 bar with gauge on the fuel supply

Sometimes is hard to describe answers to you guys because i'm from eastern eu.  Tomorrow i will check this on run with 98ron gasoline. ;)

Title: Re: Knock issue
Post by: nyet on June 07, 2019, 04:11:29 PM
Also get a wideband and make sure you aren't running lean at high load.

Title: Re: Knock issue
Post by: Blazius on June 07, 2019, 04:13:01 PM
As I said, cylinder 3 is always higher / first to knock because of the water jacket casting, next one is cylinder 2 and 1,4 should be the same roughly. Are you from Romania by any chance ?

Also log o2 voltage, so as nyet said you dont run lean on wot, specially with NB.

Title: Re: Knock issue
Post by: Wtf on June 07, 2019, 04:28:57 PM
From Poland. Running on 95ron now but i dont notice this problem on ary engine because is wery confiusing me on ajq  right now. So tell me its problem about plumbing and about fuel delivery. Because at this point i'm dumb like donkey ;D

Title: Re: Knock issue

You'll never tell from narrowband.

Get a wideband or try a fresh tank of gas.

We are going in circles.

Or this file tends to run leaner than the file you replaced.

I don't tell its narrow because its oem from factory btw engine code. I'm go to factory bhp by now.

If it isn't narrow log lamsoni_w

What? A narrowband tells you if you are running lean or not on WOT( which is what I said) , hell you can even read AFR in rich conditions in WOT in the 0.7v-0.8V range. ( atleast on mine).

Anyway. Try 98, that small knock should go away hopefully, but its weird that your desired AFR goes back to 14.7, stock ecu boost should also be 0.8 bar~ and tapered towards redline, yours goes back to spool area boost.

Probably not. Post the bin you flashed @wtf ( or did he just replace whole ecu?)

Wait, nevermind , just realised the AJQ is from the tt 180. Anyway even with ko3s you dont ramp boost back up at 5.7k RPM.

So one of the "original" bins in the AJQ has LAMFA nulled(desired afr 29.3) above 50% torque request. I dont know if that is stock or not. However BTS fueling still has AFR at 10.6 on max load.

Was on this http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=10100.msg88671#msg88671 now is on stock from my ecu i will upload it later. I flashed bin from forum because i think this in ecu maybe is not stock. Because engine is ajq block with agu big port head and small port manifold injectors are ajq. I think small port manifold are not problem but i have agu intake and injectors for test i can install this on engine but i need to rescale them in software but it will be ok to run for 180bhp? At least for now i want to factory bhp. Aslo i will swap O2 sensor to this what was with engine. Now is diagnostic o2 after cat but is interchangeable by numbers. Oem has cuted cables. But thats not problem for me. Engine is connected corectly i think (checked this 4 times) wiring diagram from elsa. Maybe ground loop? Engine is on good condition about 155psi at all cylinders. Ecu have errors from low voltage but this may be problem when cranking others are from missing equipment like ABS airbag and dbw indicator. Turbo is stock k03 not k03s tell me what details you guys want to know.

Small port head will not affect your  AFR request, it does affect load and BGSRM modules but its not important for now.

Anyway here is a original Audi TT 180 HP AJQ bin. 8N0906018A. checksum safe.

Dont flash the file if numbers are not the same! Let me see if I can find the original for that ecu.

018A is me7.1 and the one you posted is ME7.5. Also if you got that ecu, it means that the engine/ecu is from an A3, not an Audi TT. (probably)

Title: Re: Knock issue
Post by: Wtf on June 08, 2019, 06:02:20 AM
Yes it is me7.5  numbers exacly like posted. Engine is from MK1 tt quattro

Title: Re: Knock issue

Yes it is me7.5  numbers exacly like posted. Engine is from MK1 tt quattro

8L is platform designation for Audi A3, but yes I checked ETKA and after 50k cars in 2000 they switched to the A3's ecus, they switched back later on.
Anyway the file from that post is from Digital Kaos or vice versa , I dont know, but its possible that file is not stock but it doesnt seem like it , however the file I am about to post could be from the same sources as the past 2.

Anyway. Flash this and do some loggin.

So in this file LAMFA is nulled, BTS min temp is 400C HOWEVER FBSTAGBM only comes on at 700 C fully and 0.5 factor at 625 C. At 5.5k rpm max load ( ldrxn is 148 ) and HBN is 1.9 PR at 50 C IAT.

Two logs on 98 one without knock

Nice, your issue seems to be fixed, desired AFR looks good, 0 knock retard on pull,( 0.75 on low load in soft2 but its fine). Is this the file I gave you ?

Title: Re: Knock issue
Post by: Wtf on June 10, 2019, 04:14:09 PM
Yes it is. Anyway is better somtimes knock sometimes not. But i feel  "holes" on torqe. I'm past i do similar project but on ary engine (wideband vvc sai and ko3s)  and then on non stock throttle body rubber pipe engine pull strange on oem was much linear.

Well they arent tuned the same, your issue is fixed from the looks of the logs.

Not exacly because now little knock on 2 cylinder before on 3. But when driving its feel afoul. Btw at this moment soft from you will be on ecu and i will see what's going on. I think the performance should be better (no torqe losess during pull at WOT)

Title: Re: Knock issue

Now im freeaking out ??? Every thing was chcecked including diffrent tank with fuel pump from vr6 no pressure loses something around 3.5 bar under acceleratnion. Only one injector is maybe problem. I have injectors from agu with intake manifold. How to rescale them propertly?

Title: Re: Knock issue
Post by: fknbrkn on August 03, 2019, 03:54:58 PM
go wideband
and 3 deg retard its ok

Title: Re: Knock issue
Post by: nyet on August 04, 2019, 12:57:14 AM
There is something very wrong with your load. It drops out completely mid run, causing a huge timing spike.

Title: Re: Knock issue
Post by: Wtf on August 05, 2019, 08:47:05 AM
I think i found problem and its ecu because now new error code p0604 and its ram error. And i have another ecu from aum engine 06a906032dr witch 29f800bb inside. Old have 400bb. Can i flash bin from my old ecu? Old was narrow band this is wide i think plus post cat. What im thinking? I want to run engine now without o2 sensor and if it ok i install wideband and missing cables to run propertly. ;D

Title: Re: Knock issue
Post by: nyet on August 05, 2019, 01:28:11 PM
God don't flash it over just start from scratch. There are enough strange things going on that you need to simplify, not complicate.

Go back to stock, fix your o2 sensors, and don't do any tuning until your hardware is ready.

You're wasting your time trying to fix too many things at once, especially your bizarre "I want to run without an o2 sensor" thing which is.. what exactly?

Title: Re: Knock issue
Post by: Wtf on August 05, 2019, 02:26:05 PM
For test purposes only. Btw now im waiting for proper ecu. Why you thinking im complicating things? I now how engine od bulid. Thats not my first swap. But hardest because i dont have problems like that.

Cause you are trying to complicate things. Swap ecu, flash stock file, verify things are working properly then start messing around again.

KRKTE, TVUB (sorry fixed typo)

dont mess with anything else until you have fueling right.

Honestly, anyone that has read the s4wiki atleast once knows what you meant. Anyway KRKTE and TVUB is bare minimum for injector change , its all explained in s4wiki.

Title: Re: Knock issue
Post by: Wtf on August 12, 2019, 01:32:23 PM
I know. But i don't see this on this map pack from forum. Or im doing something wrong. I open winols load bin and map pack and i don't have krkte. I think map might be diffrent versus S4 ecu. Or missing on map pack.

Title: Re: Knock issue
Post by: Blazius on August 12, 2019, 02:14:15 PM
Well then it must be a terrible mappack or something, as KRKTE is literally essential, if you got non stock hardware fueling wise.

Title: Re: Knock issue

Wait, you want to arbitrariy assume another completely random bin has the same locations for both maps?

Title: Re: Knock issue
Post by: Blazius on August 13, 2019, 03:56:49 PM
I dont even know what file you are running right now... on AJQ 350034 KRKTE is at 18B77, on 018J - 354509 its at 18C9b. both are 0.1024%

post your current file that is on the ECU.
