Title: English Damos file?
Post by: lave3k on August 12, 2010, 03:28:54 PM
Hello,
I have a 2003 a4 1.8tqm, with some help I have found a few maps and relevant values but not much.
-Does anyone have a WinOLS .ols file for a similar 1.8t ecu in English?....German?
-Any map identification help would be awesome.

Thanks,
-Dave

yeah google translate is fine but slow, my real problem is that the only file I have with definitions to it is a TT file that doesn't seem to match up at all.
would be nice to have something similar enough that maps were roughly in the same place and at least the same size/type 8x8 8bit same factor etc.

Thanks, Dave

When I get some time and am not absorbed in writing code, I am going to post a bunch of ME7 Damos files in the forum.

They are common enough now that no one can argue they shouldn't be publicly posted.

They are all in German though, that is just the way it is.

You guys should post screen shots of your lists to see if we can fill in the blanks :)

I'm not sure I follow.  Why are you posting pictures of folders?  What is it that prevents you attaching zips of files ;)

I'm happy to post files which do not exist as public damos, ones I generate myself. I do it out of a spirit of cooperation, and in the hope that others will do likewise.

I would do that same, however, 95% of people are just trolling :(

ecuconnections, cannot help out much or less you want some "home made" def files for US S4 ecu.

I have over 3gb in my folder so going to be hard to post that

Forgive me if I'm not getting where you are coming from.  It felt like an offer to trade info was coming next. If I got you wrong I am sorry.

May I ask where you obtained those files?  There is a rar available online which contains a directory structure which is almost the same?

Well thats a yes and no... it is a offer to trade info...I have paid for a select few files in my collection and will gladly trade for something new... others can easily be found floating on the internet so I don't mind sharing most of my stuff ... just ask!

I will be adding an "ECU definition file" sub forum this weekend.

EDIT: List of damos files removed from this post. I'm sick of people pestering me.

I will gladly contribute what I have as soon as it is finalized and checked for accuracy.

It seems as a platform we are behind others because of the lack of information sharing. It is my impression this site an effort to dispell that.

Exactly. Everyone says HONDATA is so awesome, and anyone can tune a Subaru with free tools, and then we tell them VW/Audi/Porsche is better even though we can't tune our cars.

The goal of this site is to openly discuss ME7 tuning and promote good practices.

Tony

Exact same files are for sale on Ebay for 20usd????
I got those too.
Just for info many of these files is .DAM files and does not have the belonging HEX or the S19 Motorola file that belong to it, so almost useless. To figure out what software version those files will work with, I guess that they have to be opened again in SAM2000 to figure it out. The .DAM files is from SAM2000 that makes the .DAM and the HEX files when you export it, but I guess that you already know that.

But anyway great posting ;)

I will be adding an "ECU definition file" sub forum this weekend.

Yup, these are the standard OLS files that you can find from many different sources. Almost half of them are labeled incorrectly, or are just duplicates of other files. I am currently going through them one by one and only posting ones that I can verify.

If anyone else wants to post ECU definition files, get off your asses, and do it.
