Title: Tuning/Altering the Mazda Skyactiv engine
Post by: Blazius on August 06, 2019, 09:31:20 AM
So , Mazda earned a lot of my respect , specially recently, because IMO they are one of the last people car manufacturers left, kinda like what VAG used to be. Good cars, good engines, manual transmission and self owned. Also props for keeping ICE's in the race with the Skyactive engine.

It has been around for a few years now, so surerly somebody tried to alter or modify it , and if so what kind of strategy etc is needed for it? What kind of ECU does it have, and how would you actually tune it , it being a hybrid engine.

Im intresting in hearing your opinion or experiences if you have any :)

Nothing similar to Bosch. As mentioned they use Denso Renesas SH7058 variants. Encrypted and compressed bootloader. I worked in Subaru's for a long time which use a similar but older variant of that chip and the two are nothing alike.
