Title: Load Limit?
Post by: streacy on December 04, 2019, 03:38:20 AM
Hi,

On WOT i am hitting what feels like a limiter in over third gear, i am thinking it is either load related or MAF limit. Only requesting 1.3 bar boost. See attached logs (full log 2nd and 3rd gear & 3rd gear extracted) and snapshots of my KFMIRL and KFMIOP

Any help Appreciated

May or may not be solving the issue here but had another look at KFMIOP (see attached), showing it peaking at 94% at 4520 then reducing. Should i change this to rise all the way out to 7500?

Thanks

sorry, but what a kind log is that? What did you use to log it?

ME7 Visual Logger used to log

Those are not original csvs.

I only see bad tuned PID

Same. No PID variables though so who knows what is going on there.

Ok, so is that causing the ‘limit’ or is it torque intervention?

I did calibrate kfldrl due to tighter wastegates with 0% to 80% runs and a have increased kfldimx

You didn't log any of the load limits either, so no way of knowing.

Ok here is another log, same outcome.

I scaled IOP axis up and interpolated IRL with KFMIOP interpolater but still same out come, hitting limit and wont rev past

See attached log

1. This should be in noob section.
2. In the log the car revs exactly as far as you have the pedal down.

You know, maybe try not shitting pants and lifting off the pedal? :D

Also proper logs are taken in a single gear as a single pull. No idea wtf you are trying to do.

Still no sign of the relevant load limits in your log

Thank you for the kind words. to note gangi is not correct! TDI box matched to 2.7t so no i am not lifting off. Changing into a higher gear when i am hitting a "limit" because it wont rev past this point.

Are there any specific parameters i should log and i will do one single pull in 3rd.

EDIT

Found the variables i should log from wiki

QUOTE FROM WIKI
To help diagnose, log these:

rlsol "EngineLoadRequested" Logged
rlmax_w "EngineLoadCorrected" (this is a misomer, it should be something like "LoadLimitCorrected")Logged
rlmx_w "EngineLoadSpecified" (this is a misnomer, it should be "LoadLimitSpecified")Logged
ldrlms "ChargeLimitEngineProtection"
ldrlts "ChargeLimitTurboProtection"

I will log again with the two missing variables

gangi has nothing to do with it.
The RPM is increasing in the log until you lift.

Make a proper log in 3rd gear from 1500 to 7000 rpm, not the chopchop shit you are doing now. No one tunes cars by flooring 1->2->3. If it "does not rev", then show it by holding the pedal down and actually showing that the RPM does not increase. Right now RPM increases until you lift pedal.

This is why I said, it belongs to noob section, you don't know yet how to make a proper log.

Why your timing angle is 1° before DTC at 4500 RPM?

I see no load limit problems.

Your IMAX is a mess though.

Thanks for the replies

Shit fuel in Ireland not much timing added,

IMAX as in klfdimx? It is the stock format just increased in areas. I will post up a screenshot when I get on my laptop

Should I use the ‘rs4’  format I.e. linear? Also how do you change the hpa axis in klfdimx

Thanks

1* is very very low for that RPM, You need to pull boost most likely you will gain more by pulling boost and adding timing instead of high boost and very low timing.

What’s 1*?  How much should boost should I drop?

It should be more or less level with your boost request and not have those weird dips.

Not unless you are going to do the full precontrol calibration route, which requires completely redoing DRL based on logging data.

1 degree -  are you actually knock limited , how are your AFRs looking, are you running low ignition on purpose ?

I need to do another full DRL logging sequence while IMX is set linear?

Is there anyway to sort out my IMX as it is?

Oh ok, I was running less than stock timing prior to installing updated SMIC. Only slightly higher than stock now and there still is no knock retard present. I will add more but we do generally have bad fuel here, it’s equivalent to 91 oct.

Try to find better fuel, with ignition  soo close to GMT you are not going to make power

Might need to drop AFR down to 11.5 for that, especially at peak torque.

Should be requesting 11.5 all the time on high load, fuelling with bts at .82 and lamfa at .82.

I’ll pull max load off and increase timing a small bit and repost.

Thanks for the advice

0.82*14.7 = 12.05.
Ask 0.8 or 0.79.

1 degree at 4500 is insane on this engine. You need to be running at least 6 degrees at that RPM and even that's low.

Yet that is reality on 91oct :)

Especially when it gets hot..

Realistically, the only safe and sane solution is to dial back boost significantly to reduce max load.

Ok so just to wrap this up, the issue i was having was an EGT sensor fault. Had a good tuner look at logs and car was going very rich on high load. He properly coded out sensor now ( i must have only coded out DTC's) car is pulling fine all the way up.
