Title: Reading and writing ME 7.1.1 4Z7 907 551 R
Post by: BlackT on February 10, 2020, 11:34:58 AM
I want to make a stg1 tune on audi A6 allroad 2.7 T, BEL engine code
ECU is
ME 7.1.1
4Z7 907 551 R 003
0261 207 769

I asumme that nef moto can't read this ecu. I have galleto 1260, and mpps V16. Witch one is safer to read ecu?
I need some safety advice about this ecu. Is it hard to get this ECU in boot mod, or the procedure is same as me 7.1?
Schould I first get EEPROM with agrub tool if that is possible?
If something go wrong, is this ecu can be restored easy to life like me 7.5
Thank you all in advance, I yust wont to ask before I try anything

NEF reads/writes that file fine.

Where did you read it couldn't?

Why would you want to read it?

If it's stock, you don't need to read it.

If it's modified, read might be disabled.

So there is yust one software for 4Z7 907 551 R, as far I can see? Car is stock, soo I don't need to read it only download from S4wiki that file, tune it, checksum it than write it.

About reading with nefmoto once I try to read A6 3.0 30V I think it was ME 7.1.1. And I didn't manage to read it( everything stock on car)
That is why I ask before atemmpt anything

ME7.5 and ME7.1 says nothing about whether ECU is wideband or not.
3.0 is either ME7.1 or ME7.1.1.

There is narrowband ME7.5, there is wideband ME7.1.

On ECU cover is file that i mention on first post.
But today I read ECU info with nefomoto and the file inside ECU is
4Z7 907 551S
So i give up off doing anything.
Someone before my tried to flash this car.  Is it safe to pull this file out ECU for backup, and flash it with original file?
Will i get death code if I read this file with nefmoto?
Ps. sorry for shit camera shots, I dont have betther right now

yes you may get a death code if you read it with nef.

see the death code thread.

Use mpps, at the very least it should do it thru bootmode.

And what about mpps? Or galleto in boot mode?
One more question, is death code stored in eeprom?

I read all 3 or 4 of tread realeted to this problem/ECU. There is no clear word about is that DTC is storred in EEPROM?
And any confirmation about safe reading it with mpps v16 or galleto 1260

Before writing, for safety I must save that flash that is currently on car

I don't know...  I tryed to read it with MPPS 16, and no luck.
So I decided to full flash R file.
I did it without problem, and I then got P0602, but I can only read that DTC on Nef moto, when I connect VCDS there is no P0602 DTC.
Car is starting without problems and working fine
Soo what is happening?

One more strange problem, car have RS4 injectors.
When I lower down KRKTE  I get so rich mixture that it even could not rev past 4000 rpm with full throtle.
Why mixture become richer if I lower down KRKTE?

Are you serious?

If you can't answer that question yourself you really need to read a few EFI books.

Hmm are you serious  ;D
If I put smaller value from 0.09(aprox for standard injectors) to 0.07(for RS4 injectors) on KRKTE...
ECU schould lower down injector duty for same amount of  air flow.(If I didn't lose my mind in last time)  But in this case it does not do that
It goes super rich

But that is only was a short test, i must try one more time to confirm that

err sorry, i had it backwards. yes a larger krkte should have a longer on time.

Log, something else is going on.
