Title: MED17.5.2 Error ECU does not start
Post by: ChipRace on May 25, 2020, 06:55:45 PM
I have a big problem with MED17.5.2 HW 026S05898 SW 1037510463, Upg. SW 8P0907115BA. 100% reading and 100% writing with my genuine Kess, when I write a MOD car does not start. ECU not identified, mode to recover from ECU with KESS and original file start car, I changed only fuel for test using ECM Titanium and WinOls and problem continues, write in another car same ECU and 100% working start car, problem only occur in my personal car.

Can anyone help?
Not knowing if Kess has the wrong checksum and if it is possible to disable and use it only by the WinOls tuner software

Problem must be in Kess, MOD file with checksum from the tuner software, to write I select MOD file and then Kess asks for a file to compare, I select the original as I always did, he concluded successfully and after the checksum error and the car does not start. I will test again soon

I think its Tprot problem,  first it must be deactivated by boot mode. Same version of MED17 can have lower on verison of Tprot, some tools can handle it by obd, some not.  What you noted, happends on my brothers MED17.5.2 car. Firsttime i edit Tprot worng in boot mode, so it was still active and car not start after obd flash. Its from my limited experience.

problem must be the file read from the ECU, already write the same file in other cars and start, but each car I use his map to compare in Kess

Don't use OLS to checksum the file.

Original Kess flashes any VAG MEDC17 over the port.

Which model-year is it? I remember there are some late MED17.5.2 seems to be different. Read in bootmode / benchmode and compare with the other car...

med17.5.2 on jetta and passat will not start...

Fusca (beetle) and Q3 dont have problem.

Suport (as allways) cant answer why... Just keep asking you dumb things till you get tired and give up.
